Overview

ESRI GIS Software
ESRI software is the de facto standard for GIS software in Eastern Africa serving the needs of small businesses and large enterprises alike.

ArcGIS the world’s most popular GIS software is an integrated collection of GIS software products enabling users to deploy GIS functionality wherever it is needed—in desktops, servers, or custom applications; over the Web; or in the field.

Desktop GIS allows GIS professionals to compile, author, analyse, map and publish geographic information and knowledge on the desktop. Desktop GIS consists of core software (ArcInfo, ArcEditor, and ArcView) and a number of extension products.

Server GIS allows organisations to centrally host GIS applications and data, delivering GIS capabilities to large numbers of users through an Intranet / Internet solution.

Mobile GIS is the expansion of a GIS from the office into the field for data collection, inventory update and verification.

Other GIS software includes ESRI solution products in support of specific tasks and / or vertical industries.

The ESRI Developer Network (EDN) is a subscription based program for developers providing affordable access to ESRI technology.
